Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma - happy to help others

Hi there.

I notice a few posts out there recently concerning lymphoma.

I am a 27 year old female who is midway through chemo ABVD treatment for stage 3 Hodgkin's lymphoma. I by no means have all the answers but if anyone would like some support or Ihas questions I am here and will try and use my experience to help you out. I can't message every day as I'm still going through chemo so have my good days and bad days but I am really keen to help wherever I can.

I recieved some positive news that my treatment is working and just want to give you guys hope that it isn't always as horrendous as it can feel.

Feel free to message me or reply on here :)

All the best to everyone going through their own different battles

Rose

  • Hi Rose,

I hope you're doing well, I've read through this discussion. I'm fairly new to this forum and don't have any diagnosis yet. I'm preparing myself for a diagnosis of lymphoma because a lot of my symptoms point towards Lymphoma (not sure what kind).

I'm 22 and I have felt like something has been going on in my body for some time, much over a year, such as abdominal pain, with I've had no real diagnosis for and been referred to hospital twice with bad pain a while ago (one time is was suspected appendicitis and another was suspected eptopic pregnancy), it's not quite as infrequent and intense anymore, rather very frequent and dull, I wake up with it and go to sleep with it. I've also had intense bouts of chest pain that I had been referred to hospital with a couple of times, which had again lead to nothing.

Over a year ago I had also developed a rash on both sides of my lower abdomen (I believe to be over some glands) that is on and off intensely itchy but doesn't look like much and has slowly grown and turned tanned brown rather than red. It's not responded to about 5 different treatments, mixture of fungal and steroid, it seems to have acted and looks like a lymphoma skin rash? That initally worried me a lot.

Over the past 4 months or so I've began feeling worse and have developed 2 painless swollen glands on the left side of my neck as well and another by my throat on the right side, and another 2 in my groin (the doctor told me that they were on my groin as I wasn't aware). Recently I have developed pain in my groin alongside abdominal pain now with irregular periods and spotting, and some aching around my liver area. I've not shown any real signs of infection so I'm scared sick that it could be an advanced stage of lymphoma, and been pestering doctors a fair amount and finally managed to get a full blood count arranged on Monday but I feel this won't be enough? I feel like I kind of know I have lymphoma without the doctors really telling me, or it's all a big coincidence.

Sorry to offload! I wasn't sure if you had any advice or any words that may help or what steps to take next? Or maybe if these are symptoms you can relate to?

    Kind regards xx
