The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Thank you all. Never thought I'd find myself here again but it is what it is and there is no choice but to keep going. This chat has and always will be my greatest support.

At least I now know more than I did and have learned even more. Think I'll be here talking again about yet another cancer again....

  • I am so glad you have made your decision on how you want to proceed...the reassurance of having an action plan.

It sounds like  you have more confidence in your treatment after speaking to your oncologist.

5 doses of RT but at super strength....wow... well you know the drill so I take it as given you are slapping that moisturising cream on in prep already. Am I correct in thinking you have also been given some breathing exercises to do in prep for your sessions.

I am sending my heartfelt hugs lass.....

you are of course right.... if anyone has got this it is you. X ️X

    Hi Jbains,

None of us ever think that we are going to be here again and facing another struggle. When we do, we've just got to get on with it and, at least we know a little more than we did first time around. Now, don't get greedy! You've had more than your fair share - time to let someone else have this experience.

I've no doubt that you'll get there and, when you do, you'll be a stronger person - just stay positive. The stronger rads will be a hard slog, but if anyone can do it you can.

I shall be thinking of you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi Sandra and Sundial,

I'm glad to hear that you have both had your Covid vaccination, although I am sorry to hear how you felt afterwards. I was the same. I was totally wiped out for a day and a half, then the feeling left as quickly as it came.

I hope that you are both doing well.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi jolamine

lovely to hear from you as always.

Had my early night last night and  delighted to say I woke up this morning and had a bit of a spring to my step again....yay.

I would still have had the vaccine  even if I knew it was gonna make me feel like I did.

hopefully we will get a little semblance of our old lives back due to it.

    Take care ️

    Hi Sandra,

I totally agree about the vaccine. I'm all for anything that can help in the current situation and shall be having my booster as soon as it comes around. I only hope that it will lead us to some semblance of normality. I am desperate to see my children and grandchildren again.

I'm glad to hear that your early night added a spring to your step this morning.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
