The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi sue I would not mind but she's a short hair chihuahua our third others we no problem colour was similar,. But every summer it comes out in handfuls and if you stroke her it's like a cloud around her yet she never looks like she's lost any, your help greatly appreciated, we can finally see carpet again,

  • Pleased you got sorted Billy.

when my daughter brushes her dog the lil ones put the dog hair next to the bird feeder nd the birds come in droves to collect it... gone in mins. :)

  • Morning peeps

good:- free day for me yeahhh. Gonna chillax with the usual crafts, reading, films and at some point .... wine ;)

all those who lived though my sofa and chair refurb... it’s been a lil while since I did it... just t say it hasn’t dropped to bits as I thought it might. I’ve used it lots ( most days). lil ones have jumped around on it and the sun has cooked it in the high temperatures. It looks the same as when I finished it...chuffed to bits ... totally worth the effort :D

have as good a day as u can peeps x

  • Hi thanks Sandra, hair for birds, good idea,, got garden done early wile cool all the plants that were damaged by rain now gone so garden looks good again, got a blow torch for weeds bit slow but it works,, getting hot here north lincs hope all as well as can be.

    Billy

P.s well done sofa repair ill bring mine round next year, for you to practise some more,

  • Blimey using a blow torch .... I thought I was being edgy boiling the kettle nd pouring it on the weeds lol.

betvthey still come back though... blinkers weeds.

ive had some bind weed appear in my garden it’s wrapping itself around my hedging nd proving difficult to get rid of. Any ideas that don’t kill the hedging? X

  • Morning peeps

    bad :- none

good:- daughter popped by last night nd brought me a McDonald’s... I so rarely eat a McDonald’s it actually  feels like a treat lol.

we put worlds to right then headed to other daughters for usual Friday night hot yub nd wine. Once put the world to rights lol.

have as good a day as you can peeps x

  • You can get some weed killer that only works on certain things I'm afraid i don't remember name and some are pet friendly as well, your bind weed, if you can get at it dig roots up or blow torch it if it's old hedge it won't do much damage but should get rid of weed, good luck in your new quest, good luck.

Bad :hot already, and Bella snoring again, going out later whew,

    Billy

  • Afternoon peeps

Cant get at roots cos decking butts up against the hedging. Read somewhere that keep pulling the leaves puts too much on the root system so eventually dies. Seems long shot but guess only option.

    Bad:- none yay

good :- lil ones just left t( the stayed at mine last night ️

Hope everyone has had as good a day as they can x

  • So pleased your sofa is still looking good.

Good - dared to use my carpet shampooer I bought last year yesterday. Although I forgot to rinse and had to do it again today I am really pleased with the result especially the pale grey carpet which has had pasta, red wine, chocolate and milk spilt on it.

Bad - pre-op assessment tomorrow although op isnt until September. Hubby still hobbling but hoping he will be able to drive again before then.

  • Go you dragonfly. There ain’t anything we can’t do when we put our minds to it :) bet you are chuffed and all yr own work :)

brill you are having your pre op- makes it all seem closer doesn’t it. Each day closer to getting rid :) x
