The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Evening peeps

    bad :- none yay!

good:- lovely roast beef dinner at daughters.. yum.

ordered something off eBay (from China) 3 wks finally got delivery....wrong item...sigh. They messaged me back to ask if a 50% refund was ok. I messaged to say no... they have dispatched 100% the wrong item so wanted a full refund... they have agreed :D:D:D

hope you have had as good a day as you can peeps x

  • Hi good :had roast beef dinner as well, but frozen ready meal bo ho I bet yours tasted better,, also got Mrs rotating top table base fits underneath chair and top goes over Mrs so she doesn't have to reach to far for anything and when she wants up just swing it out the way, (one of my better ideas), at last

    Bad :still having hot flushes,,

  • Hi Ashm11,

So sorry to hear about your son and having to find your way on this thread but its definitely the place to come for support.

I had chemo last year and admittedly I was hospitalised with infections after every cycle but funnily I never really suffered a great deal. No sickness, just a bit of tiredness and a kind of hungover feeling is the only way I can describe it. I think it massively depends on the type of chemo he will be having as there are so many different types and everyones reactions are completely different. Ive heard people who had exactly the same type as me who were pretty much bed ridden throughout it. It just depends on the individual. Keep us updated on his progress and feel free to just come on here for a rant. We're like a little cyber family here :) xx

  • Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and as promised I am not leaving so long between contact :-)

Good - Its my last 2 weeks at work and I cannot wait to finish. Had a lovely weekend with my little pickle Grace. She cant wait to be a big sister

Bad - Feel overweight, swollen, hot, uncomfortable, sweaty, tired, Jamie doesnt sleep in our bed anymore due to my excessive snoring lol, have bad insomnia waking at 3am every morning, feel like my pelvis is going to snap in two........but it will very much worth it in a around 4 weeks when im finally holding my little man. Got a tear just writing this. Bloody hormones lol.

Hope everyone is well and had a great weekend :-)

    xx

    Hi All

iv stumbled across this thread and love how supportive and positive you all are. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer on Friday and the last couple of days Iv been in a bit of daze. It doesn’t really seem real! I’m thinking positively one minute then the next I’m freaking out. I’m sure these emotions are all normal. Iv spoken to some lovely people on here already and found it a comfort talking to people who know exactly how your feeling.

  • What!

Billy they can suggest but don’t mean u have to. Only do this if it’s best for you. You care for your mrs so it needs to be best for you.

I’d not half be ranting too.

Through the day where will you sit, have your meals....,,,,I wouldn’t be ranting I’d be raging. X
