The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Sandra x ️X

  • Dear Sandra - what a wonderful thoughtful and spirit lifting message this is for me.  So much so I have printed it off to look at time and again when I feel so desolate.  Thank you so much for this - so much.  ️️

  • 'Thining about the now' - I like that mantra Billy. x

  • Hedy please don't over think this. If they were really worried about you you would not be waiting for a lett4er!

Like Sandra my mantra is 'it is what it is' nothing can change that so enjoy what you have and try and put it out of your mind. I have been on tablets since November and at times I actually forget I have cancer. I am seeing my surgeon again this month.

  • That's what you should be doing the now, have you had some FOOD yet, you'll be getting ill for other reasons and nobody wants that do they.

    Billy

  • Dear Dragonfly4 - thank you so much for your reassuring message.  So kind to take the time to reply.  I hope you have a positive visit with your surgeon later this month x

  • Hi feeling lot better now just a chesty cough, next problem cannot have a lot of cough meds because of reaction to my other tabs also I'm allergic to alcohol which lots of cough meds have luckily i know what to get through experience I'll get some when shops open, I'm down stairs so don't wake up Mrs, got a moniter so i can here her, (she doesn't half snoor) dogs come and joined me and she's snoring as well hope you sleep well this morning and have breakfast,,

  • So pleased to be reading this Billy. You have fought it off pretty quick ... go you. If I get a cold I pretty much go biblical... 7 days and 7 nights I take to my bed and on the 8 th day I rise :D

bless you have a monitor to watch all is well when you are not with your wife... ️

  • Morning peeps

bad:- around aug 2017 I wrote that I had seen a friend I’d not seen for a while in the school yard as I dropped my granddaughters off. She told me she had just been diagnosed with leukaemia and her husband with advanced prostate cancer. Today I was in the school yard dropping off my granddaughters and was  told her husband has died. I left heavy hearted.

good:- today I will look at those I see and remember none of us are immortals and many fight battles we cannot see.

Smile and be kind to others, show your love to those who live in your heart. Let nothing take the joy from your life.

Have as good a day as you can peeps x

  • Hi I'm normally couple of weeks but i felt it starting so i drugged myself up well and it worked this time it doesn't always, but i don't catch it in time if you saw the medication I've tried sometimes mind you i have to check everything in them now or I can get worse instead of better. Hope you are well,.
