The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Ah so pleased you got a good nights sleep.... everything always seems a little less dark if we have slept well.... long may it last.

My cousin wears a medi bracelet ... I never understood how important it was till your comments.

Yes we do what we have to don’t we. I was well on no meds then 1.5 yrs ago .. cancer so letrozole, hypertension so amlodipine, the letrozole can cause osteoporosis so advised to take calcium. I’ve gone from the odd paracetamol to 3 tablets a day. Strange ol life ain’t it.

all the best to you nd yours too Billy.

as always lovely to hear from you with an update and thank you for your wonderful support you are giving others ️

  • Ooooo no idea what meds cousin is taking...just that she’s been on meds for yrs.

not good that it takes someone to retire to spot an error.

I was just told to buy vitamin D over the counter  so just got exactly that -  ingredients ( of which there are a few) states vitamin D3. Mind you only just been told to take a couple of wks ago but been on letrozole for 15 mths.... seems a bit later than I should have been advised to.

  • Yippee

i get my first state pension payment on Friday. That’s if they haven’t decided to change the rules yet  again. 65 years and 4 months when I was expecting it at 60!

  • 9Just a little photo to make you smile. I don’t have any grandchildren and I don’t suppose I ever will. That’s my kids choice. But here’s the nearest thing. Full of the joys of being alive. Little Maggie May ruling the roost on her ‘iron’ throne...  :-)

  • Oh no.., if you were paye then they are useless. Don’t sound right to owe that on the earnings you made. Hope all pans out nd it’s a mistake. It’s hard enough without a big bill hanging over us.
