Brilliant, I'm so impressed at how responsible you are.
Please post back and let me know how you get on.

ps - I am currently writing a website on my family's skin cancer experiences and have pulled a lot of information together on melanoma. Its doing the research on skin cancer that has let me to discover my problem on my arm so at least it has helped me anyway!
Speak to you soon xx
so far ive had a quick look on the link you sent and it is really helpful.thank youxx.i will tell you when ive made the appointment. xx
Well done Ellie, just take it a step at a time. I am between my regular check up`s at the moment and I have a mole on my back which i`m not sure about, so I am going to contact my clinic and get an appointment to get it checked. Since I had my melanoma, I have had 2 other moles checked and found out to be nothing but so much better to be sure. So pleased you have decided to see someone. As the other writer says, i`m sure you could go on your own to the doctor. As for injections, horrid horrid things but i`m sure they have ways to get round this problem now, as so many people are terrified of them  . Hope to hear how you are getting on very soon.

Hi Ellie33,
Well done from me too. I know that I've felt so much better after I've seen the doctor and have got the care I needed at the time, or been reassured that everything's ok. Taking this first step rather than being on my own worrying what it might be made me feel better.
I've been on my own to appointments and with my mum and it is nice to have someone there for moral support. So if you can find someone to go with you then I think it helps.
As Britlass and Mandy have said, please do let us know how you get on.

Dear Ellie33,
so relieved to hear you have confided in your Mum, things like this are tough enough without doing it on your own. Brilliant news, you have made my day. I and all us of here will be sending you loads of positive thoughts and have everything crossed that you get the results quickly and more importantly all clear.
Will be waiting to hear how you get on

that's great to hear that you've told your mum and got an appointment. It's completely understandable and normal that you feel sick about the appointment. In can be scary. If I'm feeling anxious I take slow deep breaths and tell myself I can handle whatever's happening. It can be hard at times but it helps me. Good luck tomorrow x
Well done! I bet she was pleased you told her. Good luck for tomorrow. It's a big day for both of us.

Hi Mandyhurrell,
positive thoughts coming your way too.

Thanks so much Britlass.
I saw the doctor today, unfortunetely it was not the really good one but nevermind.
He has no idea what I have on my arm. He gave a quick glance at it and then mumbled something about it being benign.
Not sure if I am totally reassured by this!
Perhaps I will have to research it myself some more or go back and see another doctor who is more interested.
Oh well.
I wonder how Ellie33 got on?
Thanks for thinking of me anyway.
Have a good weekend.
