It’s very confusing because I got told they were polyps and then today another consultant said that they aren’t actually sure if it’s defiantly that .. 

I think you can maybe ask to be put to sleep if you say your very anxious about being awake. No harm in asking. It is scary I no how you feel the not knowing and waiting. I keep ringing to see if they have any cancellations to fit me in sooner is this something you can do as well I haven’t had much luck but you never no.

Just wanted to say that the hysteroscopy isn’t anything to worry about. When I had one it wasn’t painful at all. I had no warning I was going to have one, so didn’t have time to worry in advance, but it really is a simple procedure and it didn’t hurt in my experience. Hope you find it as straightforward. x

How have you got on so far? Have you had any news? 

I'm 26, and had a baby 5 months ago. A large polyp was found at my smear test in March 2019. My smear came back clear.

Had hospital appt last week and said I need to have it removed during  day surgery by hysteroscopy (if that's how it is spelt lol). I am terrified after doing alot of googling and have gave myself the fear!! 

Had no other symptoms at all.

Also, I had my period from 4th-10th June. It stopped for a day then seemed to come back last night but today I have had alot of bleeding with fresh blood and noticing clots coming away, just small ones. I've called the gyno hospital and left a message with the secretary to call me back as want to hopefully speak to the dr xx

in January my periods were horrendous, then on and off daily, leading up to last month where I was bleeding 21 days straight.

so I had a scan which found a polyp.

i was also having bad pelvic pain. Anyway fast forward 5 months and I went in for a hysteroscopy and polyp removal. No one saw me after ( my usual surgeon was away ) but I was sent home with paperwork saying a polyp was removed and biopsy of womb taken.

fast forward another month, biopsy all clear and I was in for another op to have a womb ablation with my surgeon, he also agreed to sterilise me at same time.

so when awake he tells me there were 3 polyps, there is no evidence they removed one month before which I’m angry about but so glad my surgeon took 3, so am just waiting on these he thinks they looked benign. And then just to throw into the mic he says it’s a mess in there and I’m covered in endometriosis . Oh they joys of being a woman ‍♀️

Oh my that sounds horrendous!! What's happening now then? How was your recovery afterwards? 

I haven't had anything done yet. Pre op assessment is on 8th august, then wait for procedure date then I suppose! However, last period stopped and all was fine, this period however I started back the pill. I've bled for 23 days so far and passing clots during. Doctor told me could be the pill causing it as they affect your cycle after going back on contraception after childbirth and obviously it could be the polyp. I'm really stressing about it all but I know it needs done xx
