Was reading your post and wondering how you got on? I have had a similar problem for the past year with my throat/neck. I have been in and out of hospital over the past 5 years for many different illnesses and just feel I have absolutely no luck. Regarding my neck, my voice began to go hoarse around a year ago to which I barely noticed until everyone I came across asked if I had a cold it was then I realised how bad my voice bad become through no reason I could see other than maybe the severe acid reflux/vomiting/heartburn was scarring my throat - something I've been seeing gastroenterology about for the past 2 years with numerous tests with no helpful outcome. Due to this I avoided the hospital until my hearing also began to worsen, after a visit to the ENT 6 weeks ago they identified a lump on my vocal cords (I am due a further examination next week under general anesthetic). Through the past year I have also had swelling in the throat on both sides coming out in a large lump and with a stabbing pain. The pain would come and go but the lumps remained for a while, this happens multiple times a day. I have been really scared for a while as I have a grandparent on each side who have died of throat cancer and I don't have the best health at the best of times. I'm sorry for the long winded post I just don't feel like I can talk to anyone about this don't like putting it on my partner and family as they are constantly worried. Any advice would be so so helpful.

I know is 2 years later than the original post.However I would like to share my experience for the same issue.

I have experienced the same problem with my glands, back in 2015.

I have been sent to get bloodtests and scans done with negative results, but presistent swelling , pain and fatigue. After two month go has asked for an other gp's opinion. She has straightaway said, oh nothing to worry it's a bacterial infection and prescribed Penicillin VK.

Within 3 days I had no issues whatsoever.

Since than I have the same issue atleast once a year and pencilin VK is my solution.

Of course I can't tell that is a solution for everyone, but could help.

Hi there, I'm experiencing something simular last week or two the lymph node under my jaw is quite big and really hurts to touch and in general. Take painkillers but they don't last long and it hurts again not a severe pain but it's there and it let's you know it. 

I'm afraid to go doctors because they are useless in my surgery not the best to help anyone. But I no they will say its an infection but I no different because I feel fine regardless of that. I've had no other symptoms like fever/chills, but have been tired more than anything but I'm not exercising much due to not going out because of covid. But find myself yawning all the time once I start I can't stop type of episode. 

My temp is normal and I feel good so no its no infection and that's why I'm worried because il get palmed off and il just be worse not knowing if there's something else wrong and causing my node to be painful as it is. 

I no not too Google it as 9 out 10 times everything is cancer related but I'm a terrible worrier and it will be on my mind. 

Just wondering what I should do if don't get joy at my doctors. 

How did everything go in the end I could have wrote your post myself iv been suffering since January with just my left side and stomach pain it swells up then go's down had bloods done January all were good. Iv had camera down all good and I'm waiting on an ultrasound on my gland. When it's swollen I get ear ache but no infection I get bad head aches I feel like noone is listening to me! He said it could be saliver stones. I'm on penicillin for now while I wait but I'm super scared xx

Sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell. 

You seem to be in the right track with finding out what is wrong, I never had an ultrasound scan but was prescribed antibiotics after seeing 3 different doctors. Luckily I havent had any problems since so it must have been an infection that  took a long time to clear. I  worried a lot over it and kept touching it to see if it had gone down, I dont think that helped! Are you prodding/feeling yours?

I know it is a lot easier said than done but try not to worry too much. Try and take comfort in the fact that your bloods and camara were all clear. That's a good sign.

Hopefully the penicillin will help clear any infection.

Did you go to the doctors after? If so what did they say?

I also felt ok apart from the painful gland. I dont recall having a temperature but did feel tired, and ofcourse very worried at the time! It could be an infection in your gland/throat even if you feel fine otherwise. I was prescribed antibiotics which did the trick and after a few days it stopped hurting me. Thankfully I have been fine since, although my one gland is a bit bigger than the other but nothing major. I was told by the doctor that if the antibiotics didnt help then it may be worthwhile going for an ultra scan but he didnt seem concerned.  Luckily I didnt go for a scan as the antibiotics helped. I think its worthwhile seeing your GP if you haven't already done so as it is very possible you will be prescribed antibiotics to see if that sorts it.

Thank you im trying iv been to see lots of different doctors and I'm only just being seen it's taken 6 month of constant phone calls being passed from pillar to post only just been given anti biotics and I'm only 4 days in so I'm praying it works in on them for 10 days. When it flairs up I feel so ill. I rang ent back and they are changing it from non urgent to urgent I'm so fed up. And no I don't touch it I can feel it constantly there for about 2 weeks then go's for a couple of days then I can feel it again I really wish I could afford to go private, my bloods have been requested again so I will do that this week. Did you have stomach pain with yours? Iv got pain in my stomach below my left rib and they keep giving me lanzoprazole but that's not helping. I feel so tired and drained alot of the tome xx

Hiya your symptoms are very similar to mine although my symptoms are intermittent and I also suffer with ear ache. Iv been told its acid as well as anxiety. I want some answers it's been going on 4 months for me. Xx

It's honestly the hardest thing I was super ill in January had alot of problems I was in and out of hospital still no tests or answers! They keep giving me lanzoprazole so maybe they are thinking the same with me it's a joke leaving people to worry. I know for a fact this is not reflux or adult gurd.
