Recovering from radical hysterectomy.

I’m recovering from radical hysterectomy and lymph node removal and would like to talk to any others who have been through the same. I do find I’m having sharpe pains and need reassurance. Please, anyone else who has come through it or in the same position, would love to connect. X

  • Thank you, hope you're on the mend too, although must be early stages for you.  Yes, had a radical hysterectomy, so everything and burnt back to catch all cells, if any remaining.  Still ongoing menopause and have just seen consultant which is a three monthly check up.  I've had two CT scans regarding pains in my groin but nothing has shown up, a new consultant has suggested a bone scan as said that it could be connected with weakened bone structure.  I only have to walk around supermarket to feel very old and in pain but I'm.all clear and thankful I didnt have to go through chemo or radiotherapy.  Important to stay positive and eat well, I dont drink much as always poorly in the morning.   thank you for your thoughts and hope your recovery goes from strength to strength. X

  • Hi kate, sorry for the late reply. After what I have gone through, everything came so fast. There was really nothing I felt at that time except I have anemia and headache. So after all the tests, they found it. And yes. After 2 years of cancer free.. It came back. I wrote and posted the whole story. You can check it from my account.  Cheers and hope you are doing well

  • Hey Steven, welcome to Cancer Chat.

I just noticed you were hoping to connect with Sandykcc. Unfortunately Sandy hasn't been on the forum since 2018 so I'm not sure you will be hearing back from her.

You're very welcome to join in on more recent discussions about this or start your own discussion but if you have any questions about the operation your wife has just had, do give our team of cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I do hope everything went according to plan yesterday and that your wife has a speedy recovery.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
