Hello, I was first diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago & was prescribed Hormone therapy, this was unsuccessful treating the cancer but did leave me chemically castrated, but at 83 "Am I bovvered?" My oncologist then put me on a course of chemotherapy, -6 sessions at fortnightly intervals during December . A PETSCAN in February showed that my cancer was now metastatic & had gone into my bones, so now I am on another course of 6 treatments as before .
I have had 3 so far, & after each one I have 3 daily injections of
NIVESTIM (Fligrastatin) .During the chemo I have my toenails & fingernails varnished!
I am currently living with my wife (who's Dementia)in a retirement home in France, where we have lived for 31 years, the care here is superb, not just here but in France overall !!
I would also like to pass on my experience re. the chemotherapy : I have not suffered from any of the associated undesirable side effects of chemo, like nausea or sickness, which I attribute to wearing accupressure wristbands, bought years ago on Brittany Ferries to alleviate seasickness! I AM SURE THEY REALLY WORK!
Best wishes to all,
Harry.
