Im not a nurse but I am coming up 10 months post treatment for anal cancer. As far as I know bleeding prior, during and after treatment is quite common. I had all three. Xx

I can appreciate this is worrying. There are a lot of tiny blood vessels in the anal area, so they bleed easily and it can seem like a lot of blood. The cancer may have affected some of these blood vessels hence the bleeding. Try and keep the bowel motions soft and fairly loose, as this will help reduce this happening.

It might be worth letting his GP and/or medical team know this is happening. Sometimes, a blood test check for anaemia is done, in cases of bleeding.
