I am worried that I might have some sort of stomach cancer

Hi , I am worried that I might have some sort of stomach cancer. I have woken up for the last month feeling nauseous and sometimes vomiting. I am also quite stressed and feel tired daily. My appetite has decreased a lot and consequently, I have lost a bit of weight. I have finally been given some cyclxin to halt the nausea but I still have no understanding of the cause. I am seeing the GP and she will hopefully refer me to a specialist. Would you insist on being referred to a specialist. Thinking things over, I had had episodes of vomiting in the past two years or so, and always put it down to food poisoning or a bug. Thanks. A

  • Hi Fossie001,

You are doing the right thing in seeing your GP about this and I hope that you will find out more very soon. It's important that you give your GP a detailed and accurate list of all your symptoms and that you also tell them that you have had episodes of vomiting in the past two years or so but you used to think it was due to good poisoning or a bug so you never saw a doctor about this before. Telling them everything and sharing your worries with your doctor will help them assess whether they think you need to be referred to a specialist.

So try and make an appointment as soon as you can and I hope that it all turns out to be nothing of concern and that they manage to treat your symptoms quickly so that you feel better soon.
