Glenn - diagnosed with prostate cancer

Hi I was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 5 weeks ago,hit me really hard, didn't expect it and still finding it hard to get my head around it!

  • Hi Wolves58

Sorry about your diagnosis. My cancer is different to yours, but getting a cancer diagnosis messes with your head so just know your feelings are totally normal. You don't say if you have a treatment plan yet or not but from my experience once you have one you will feel more in control. Try to keep busy with things you enjoy to take your mind of it, easier said than done I know. You got this. Sending hugs. Xx

  • Hi there yes they have a plan in place for me,I'm having my second hormone injection tomorrow at my g.p surgery and I have an appointment on Monday the 9th to get the results from a c.t scan I had and to discuss rt treatment, hopefully the scan results will be ok,waiting for things like that really messes with your head dosent it! It's the uncertainty about everything that gets me,not knowing where you'll be at a few months down the lin

  • Waiting on test results is the worst. Good luck for the 9th. X

  • Thank you, you're right yes, when you've waiting about 6 weeks it just plays on your mind, don't want any more bad news on top of what I've already had

  • Hi.. I had a similar experience and the wait is horrendous. The fact that you have had two injections was reassuring, as they prevent the cancer from spreading and shrink the prostate, I believe. I spent most of my waiting time gathering information which was really useful in preparing questions to ask. I have come to realise the whole gammit is a waiting game and have had to learn to live with it; it’s out of my control. I am glad people are looking after me and wish you all the best on your ‘journey’.
