New diagnosis - daughter has CML

Hi my 24 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with Chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) and would be grateful to hear from anyone who may have experienced this. 
we have a great consultant and she starts treatment on Monday having had her eggs frozen (just in case) 

Any support or advice is really appreciated as I’ve been in a state of shock and just taking one day at a time. We have no idea what to expect and we have a great relationship, have good chats and sense of humour so we know we can get through this but would appreciate any experiences so we can be as prepared as possible 

  • Welcome to the forum Purcht although I'm sorry to hear your daughter has been diagnosed with CML.

    Hopefully some of our members who have chronic myeloid leukaemia will offer their support, and share their experiences and advice with you soon, but if you or your daughter have any questions or concerns you would like to discuss with one of our cancer nurses, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. 

    It sounds like you have a very good approach to everything that is happening at the moment Purcht and I hope being a part of our community will help you both on this journey as well.
