Hi - waiting for appointment at breast clinic

Hey just wanted to say hi.

I've been to the doctor today, and after a week of antibiotics she's still concerned so has referred me to the breast clinic urgently.

It says 2 weeks for an appointment... is it really that long??

Sorry I'm trying to stay positive but really scared at the same time.

  • Hello Jules1976

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some concerns about your breast health recently and that your GP has now referred you for an urgent appointment at the breast clinic. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious.

We know that for many people this period of waiting can seem like an eternity and can be very difficult. It's good to hear that you're trying to stay positive as this really will help the time pass more quickly. It may help to keep in mind that the vast majority of people who are seen in breast clinics do not go on to be diagnosed with cancer.

It may also help to give our team of nurses a call to chat things through with them. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can ahead of your appointment. If you'd like to speak with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 (excluding bank holidays).

Do keep in touch Jules and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn

  • Had my appointment at the breast clinic today, they found a lump, had a mammogram, then had to have 3 biopsies, now got to wait until the 19th for results.

This is going to be a very stressful 2 weeks waiting, results will be on my daughters 25th Birthday
