Anyone under 30?

Hello guys my names Sophie. I’m 23 and got diagnosed with Bowel cancer just before my 22, was given the all clear and then rediagnosed before my 23. Gone through chemo, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, four surgeries, sepsis, shingles and a stroke and have had a full hysterectomy, my rectum, part of my bowel, bladder, and tailbone removed and the some of the nerves to my left leg cut. Now have two permanent stomas and along with not being able to walk properly, I will be disabled for the rest of my life. In the space of 6 months lost the only 2 friends I made on the cancer ward, I'm really lonely. I just want someone I can relate too and let's be honest that's hard to find when your my age. Sorry for the long paragraph but thanks if you have taken the time to read x

  • Hi Sophie,

I'm a good deal older than you but my son got cancer at 23 and he died last week. I'm broken. If you need to vent at me at least I would feel of some use xx

  • Hey!

So sorry to hear your news and everything you have been through. I can't relate exactly as it's my boyfriend who has cancer. He is 27 (I'm 25) and he has just been diagnosed with Lymphoma and is starting 6 months of chemo from Wednesday 13th October.

I live with my boyfriend and will be the main person with him by his side - we've been together since January and living together for 6 months so it's a very new relationship.

I'm always here if anyone would like to chat, rant or just for someone to listen. I could definitely use the support.

Sending everyone love and best wishes!

  • Hey SBNS,

really sorry to hear about your boyfriend. If you ever need a vent or have any questions about treatment In general feel free to message. Like I wish I had someone to tell me about what to pack before a day of treatment! Good luck on the 13th x
