Coping with my husband who has terminal cancer

I just wondered if there is anyone else in a similar position to me. My husband has terminal cancer , he is only 52 and this has all started from a dodgy mole discovered in June. I feel I am on a very lonely and scary journey .

  • Hi, my husband has just been diagnosed with secondary bone cancer and currently they can’t find the primary which makes it worse! I feel the exact same! He is 55.
    happy to chat

  • Hi Paddock3,

I am in a similar position, my husband had bladder cancer 2022, following surgery and chemo he was doing well. However a recent scan has shown possible recurrence.
He has been admitted to hospital twice in the last three wwwka with bowel obstruction. This has been caused by adhesions/scarring from his previous surgery. We weee informed yesterday in oncology that due to this no treatment can be offered .We have been referred to community palliative care team for symptom control. Prognosis possible months. We are in shock that that’s it, no treatment can be given. We are devastated .

  • Welcome to the forum Pixie27 although I'm sorry to hear about your husband. This must be a very difficult time.

I hope you don't mind me replying to you but I noticed you were making your post in reply to Paddock3. I'm not sure if you're aware, but Paddock3 actually started this discussion over 9 years ago and hasn't returned to the forum in quite some time so there's a chance you may not hear back from them. However, I can see there was some activity on here 5 months ago, so hopefully some of our other members will offer their support and advice to you soon.

If you don't hear back from anyone though, you can start your own discussion or reach out to others on more recent discussions you find about this when searching the forum.

We also have a very helpful team of cancer nurses you can talk things through with on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
