what is the difference between hodgkin’s lymphoma and non hodgkin’s lymphoma and aml leukaemia
Hi there and thanks for the post
Lymphoma, in which we have more information about on our website, is the word used to describe a type of blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system. There are different types of Lymphoma but the main 2 include Hodgkin and Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. Hodgkin Lymphoma is identified because of the way the cancer cells appear under the microscope. Hodgkin Lymphomas contain a type of white blood cells called Reed Sternberg cells, whereas Non Hodgkin Lymphomas don't.
Acute Myeloid Leukaemia AML, again with information on our website, is a different type of blood cancer affecting the production of myeloid cells in the bone marrow.
I hope this helps but do get back if you have further questions. If you wish to talk through any of this then do call us on 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.
All the best
Naomi
