Capecitabine

Hi, I'm new to this. My hubby has just started capecitabine. He's on 8 tablets a day, he's on day 5 and he just seems to sleep all the time. When he's awake he says he just feels odd. He actually had tonight's tablets and then was quite sick. Is this normal? Does it settle? Just looking for a bit of reassurance really!

Hello Helenjoann,
well that certainly explains his tiredness,body recovering from surgery,bowel adjusting to itschanged status and chemotherapy thrown in on top.At least he is now over halfway on the road back to recovery which is the good news.Only a few moremountains to climb before the more pleasant downhill stroll,

Thanks David I really hope so. We've got lots to do! He's been my rock while I've struggled with long Covid for 18 months. Now I can see what my body can do being the carer!

His treatment plan should list any drugs he is being prescribed - my understanding is that capacetibane is used to treat a range of cancers.
