  • Hi Jenny Happy Easter to you. Ronnie has put all his waight back on and the stoma nurse is very pleased with him. He still hasnt got to see his consultant and he had his op on the 17/11/22 Then after Ronnie sending off a bowl sample last week he got the results today and they say he needs further tests and will get a phone call on the 16th. So it looks like they will want him in for a colonoscopy. He has got divicular which he keeps under control with the drinks and they took 2 polips out a year ago. So feelig a bit down today just when we were on an even keel and feeling the most calm i have ever felt for over a year.  I will keep in touch with his progress. Take care

    Regards Sylvia

  • Hi Sylvia its good to hear from you I've wondered how you both were ,well I suppose you could say its good news and not so good news ,it sounds like his sample is something that needs to be checked with further tests as you say a colonoscopy ,I had the same last October because I had an abnormal Fit test as you probably know Diverticulitis and polyps etc can cause an abnormal test well that's exactly what mine turned out to be nothing nasty so I hope Ronnie's turns out to be nothing to worry about and that you get back to enjoying a stress free life ,its great he's put weight on and that the stoma nurse is pleased with him ,fingers crossed he gets the all clear if he has to have a colonoscopy ,Happy Easter to you both let me know how things go Sylvia I'll be thinking about you both Best Wishes Jenny x

  • Hi Jenny Ronnie got the phone call from the bowl nurse and said they had found a microscopic blood and wanted him to have a colonoscopy i said isnt there anything else you could do as i wasnt happy with them messing about so soon  after his op on the 17th Nov last year. Sh said they could do a CTC scan if the consultant agrees. So she is having a word with him on Wednesday and phoning me with the outcome. But she understood how i felt. I will let you know the outcome .Regards Sylvia.

  • I agree it is a bit of an ordeal having a colonoscopy for anyone never mind for someone who's not long had that type of op ,its good they can do the scan instead ,recently there was an elderly gentleman on here who couldn't have a colonoscopy because he was in his 90's so he was having the scan instead I don't know how he got on ,but yes I hope they agree to Ronnie having a scan instead ,thanks for the update .

  • Hi Jane no colonoscopy or CTC scan needed. The consultant went right back to Nov 22 and saw all the scans Ronnie has had and the last colonoscopy and they said it was safe to leave him. So it made my birthday a happy one as i was 76 today. So all is well at the moment. Take care .Regards from Sylvia.

  • First of all Sylvia Happy Birthday to you ,it must have been a nice surprise getting that news today , I wonder what made them say he needed it in the first place if he doesn't now it might have been good to have the scan in a way for peace of mind after they mentioned it but you have to trust their judgement on such matters just keep your eye on things and if anything is even slightly off let them know but for now as you say everything is fine and it sounds like he's doing well ,thanks again for letting me know I always think about you both hoping things are going well and you can spend some lovely times together take care both of you keep in touch Jenny x

  • Thankyou Jenny i did say would he still be having the ctc scan and thy said no.

I said as long as they thought he was going to be safe i am happy about that. I will keep a keen eye on him. Take care

    Regards from Sylvia
