Hi, just wondering can I wear fake tan while receiving abdv chemo?

Hello and thanks for posting,
I can see that other members have posted about certain brands they have used, which may be helpful for you.
You may have increased skin sensitivity whilst having chemotherapy, so do a small area patch test first, before using anything new on your skin.
And use the advice of your hospital team/nurse if needed.
Best wishes,
Vanda
Hi I was following your post , just wondering have you started abvd treatment, how are you getting on?
I have an appointment to discuss my treatment for hodkins lymphoma tomorrow.I feel very nervous about it.
The tan question was something I had thought of too x
Hey:) I started treatment Friday the 28th Oct and I'm getting my second treatment this Friday. So far the treatment has been good. I've had minimal side effects and I'm hoping it stays this way. The first week after treatment i felt quite sick in my stomach but not actually getting sick. I slept a lot and I've gotten some pins and needles in my fingers. But after the first week I felt quite good because the sick feeling and tiredness went. I'm going to be getting treatment every second week. Best of luck with your treatment I hope all goes okay for you :)
Also I spoke to my nurse about tan and she said that the treatment could increase my skins sensitivity but I could try use a natural/organic tan but to patch test it first. I purchased tan organic online but it hasn't arrived yet so I haven't tried it yet but she seemed happy for me to give it a go. She said the worst that could happen is I get a rash and that I can take antihistamines if that happens.
Ah thanks for your advice, it really helps .Could you let me know how you get on on Friday please and how your feeling after it .
Am so nervous about chemo x
Thanks Lauren
Hi Lauren, I got my second chemo there on Friday. I got on okay, the medication was a bit more stingy receiving it this time but I've had no nausea at all this time around yet and I'm not as tired as the last time either! Best of luck with everything!
Am so glad it was ok for you. I have my 1st one on Wednesday and I worrying about what to expect. Its great to know someone going through a similar experience, and you seem to be handling it well x will you keep me informed of future treatments please x if you want I could give you my number , so it easier x thanks very much Lauren xx
