Coming home after bladder removal

Can anyone tell me what the day to day procedure is when i get home after bladder removal. Thank you

From Ronnie

  • Looking great Sylvie- they won't discharge him unless they're sure he's ok to be at home, but he's done really well so far.

  • Thank you.He is getting the very best of treatment and i have every faith in all the people that work there. I dont like the idea of him having to travel nearly an hour to the hospital in 2  weeks time for a check up and a scan. He is very fradgile at the monment. We will see. i will update when i get back from the hospital today. TTFN

  • Hello from Sylvie well Ronnie looks like he has some color in his face for the first time in ages. He still hasn't had anything to eat but they said he had to pass wind first and when he does it means that the bit of small intestine they took for the conduit has healed and he can have soft food. He still hasn't had a walk yet cos he is still fixed up to a bed bag attached to his stoma.but the urine is becoming nice and clear. The small amount of blood he was loosing from his penis has nearly dried up. I am going to speak to the doc on Monday about how the op went and how they think he is doing. They told Ronnie the op went well and they got all the cancer out but i wont to hear for myself. I will be in-touch.

    Regards Sylvie

  • Good to hear but understand you wanting to speak to the Dr Know its nit the same but after my hysterectomy I didn't eat for 3 days xx

  • Hi Sylvie

Things do seem to be going very well, which is good news, but I understand you wanting to speak to the doctor yourself about it. Keep us posted when you know more.

  • Same here when i had mine.. I spoke to the staff nurse who looked after Ronnie in the icu in the corridor and he went to see the top lady in Ronnie ward i was waiting outside the ward till visiting time and she came to talk to me so i told her my concerns and she said she is going to get the clinical team to talk to me on Monday  He looked good yesterday He is going to pay to watch England football tomorrow  He passed wind yesterday so that means the bit of small bowl they took is knitting together. He might even have something soft to eat today. The nurse gave him a bed bath yesterday and he wasn't impressed but said later it was nice and refreshing. His pee was nearly clear yesterday so that's a good sign his conduit is working Small world next bed there is a man who used to play darts and doms with my sister Pauline husband  in Micklefield many years ago. 2 people in Ronnies ward with liver transplants. Well i am off upstairs to get my breakfast. Will be thinking about you two tomorrow  take care he will be fine. Love from Sylvia xxx

  • Will talk later today

    Sylvie

  • All sounding good so pleased  for you both lots of love Celia xx ps somehow missed  this post when I looked earlier xx

  • Ronnie was up and walking to the toilet tody.He had 3 meals so i was very pleased all tubes are out all except the stoma one to the bed bag. There is still a bit of blood in his urine but very little. The stoma nurse is coming to see him tomorrow to change his bag. I asked if she could be there after 2pm she said she would try.I am watching the football tomorrow with him. England is playing. He has to pay but what the hell. He wants to watch 2 other ones and i don't so i will give the 6-8 visit a miss and have a rest. The nurses are very pleased with him and fuss over him

I hope all goes well for your John tomorrow and you don't get too agitated Our Wendy took me home to get a few things today and there was an appointment for me to go for a blood test. There trying to level my thyroid count with changing my tablets but they will have to wait till i get Ronnie settled.

I am feeling my age just know and getting tied easy. You probably know what i mean running up and down to a hospital. But hopefully not for much longer. We will see what the clinical team say tomorrow. Keep in touch and let me know how your John goes and i will let you know what the team have to say.

Take care and think of the next holiday to Playa Blanca

    Love from Sylvia xxx
