I’ve heard tamoxifen can do that. I’m just worried as it will be so instant with the meds and taking the ovaries. It’s all so much after a lot already. X

I think most of these hormone tablets are the same none being better than other it seems like some tolerate some better than the other but don’t think any are a walk in the park for us , but they are no where near as bad as I thought xx but definitely got majority of st time x

Zoladex is the injection that puts you in instant menopause. I’ll have that plus anastrozole which is the tamoxifen equivalent of cancer drug but an ai and for post menopausal. Because the cancer is er and pr + and I’m so far away from menopause they want to stop my hormones now. I have to be on zoladex for a month before I start the anastrozole. 

it gives me an increased chance of non recurrence so I’m just having to throw everything at it.

The tablets are not so bad only now starting to get symptoms after 8 or 9 months they are there but not terrible they are manageable xx 

Hello Ahill , that is pretty scary for you . I was already menopausal when I had breast cancer ,unfortunately the tablets we have to take give us all the symptoms of the menopause.I still have night and day sweats and I am working with my GP to overcome these symptoms.Some friends of mine have flown through the menopause without any symptoms. Stay positive xx

The pelvic radiotherapy I have had has put me into early menopause at 38. I've got my first appointment tomorrow at the menopause clinic. My treatment finished in September last year and when I had some bloods taken in January they showed that I was in menopause. I get hot flushes mainly but I also have noticed skin and hair changes and I have zero libido (although this might be due to the surgery I had as well). I've also been getting more headaches and body aches.

That’s good news. It’s all such a minefield. I’m constantly panicking the cancer will come back and then worrying that without my ovaries for so long all those other issues. 

Yes the tablets on top of the menopause isn’t going to be fun is it. It’s rubbish isn’t it.
