Can you take raspberry ketone with tamoxifen??

I would like to know as above if I am able to take raspberry ketone with tamoxifen as part of a diet regime. I feel that exercise alone isnt helping but before I go ahead and buy these, I would like to know if they are safe.

Re: Can you take raspberry ketone with tamoxifen??

Thank you for posting  question. I am sorry to learn that you have been affected by breast cancer.

You said that you would like to try raspberry ketone to help with weight loss. But you are unsure if it is safe for you to take it while you are on tamoxifen.

I am afraid that I cannot answer your question about whether or not it is ok to take raspberry ketone with tamoxifen. This is because raspberry ketone is sold as a supplement. Companies are no longer able to sell manufactured unlicensed herbal medicines unless they have an appropriate product license. But herbal supplements still do not have to be vigorously tested in the same way as medicines. This means that doctors do not always know if a specific supplement will interact with another medicines.

Although I am not aware of any evidence to suggest  it is unsafe to take raspberry ketone and tamoxifen, I must stress that this does not mean that it is definitely safe. It is quite probably that this has never been studied.

We always advise people who are thinking of taking any supplements that they discuss the situation with their doctor.  They may be able to offer you an opinion about whether they think it is safe to take the supplement. They will base their opinion on the available knowledge of  the two products and how they work.

I am sorry that I cannot be more helpful. If you have any other questions please  get back to us.

Kind regards,
