I know that you are worried about this  i was completely taken aback when they said that they knew about the cyst but did nothing about it as they believed it to be 'just a cyst' nothing to worry about

i should have been told about it         there should have been some kind of follow up               there was nothing

I was never away from the docs complaining about this pain and that pain

after the ultrasound and finding the cyst had got 'significantly bigger'  that was their words, they wanted me to go for a CT scan as they were now woried about it            

i had the ct scan done and was shown the scan on the computer 

i was told then that it was not a cyst        it was infact a  tumour       

i had a meeting with my consultant. and he said that he wanted to remove my kidney   i asked him did he think it was malignant and he said that in his vast years of experience yes he thought it was maligant                                            biopsy proved this to be the case

he said that it had just been caught in time

so im sure that you did not want to hear all that  but      that was what happened to me          yours could be completely different     and i do hope so         in some cases they are able to take the cyst away if it is just on the side of it         mine was on the side and also through the bottom of the kydney     as he said it was feeding from the kidney and getting larger.

go back to your doctor and tell him that you are worried and see if he could shed any light on it                   if you are waiting on a ct scan let them know that you would be available if a cancellation comes up        it would be good to have your name down on a waiting list just in case

Hi Nigela    sorry ive not been on for a wee while

I think mine was 5cms too ( my head is like mush at the minute)         on the side of it and also inside it.      Im nerously waiting on my 6 month scan follow up which is actually this month but i have not got a date yet.           getting sort of anxious about it now     but when i get a date i will let you know

have you heard any more word about when you are going back or have you got a date yet for scan etc

i know you are worried but if you have not heard anything yet give them a ring to see what is happening or if they can give you a date or time scale.

keep us informed how things are going        i hope you get news soon
