Hi Cavecrawler
Sorry to read your news. Good luck with your meeting and please let us know how it goes.
Best wishes
Jane
The histology from my op at the Marsden came back as Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. I'm being referred to Mr Moran at Basingstoke. Just wondering what to expect now!
Thanks for blogging. x
Hi Bumpy,
Really good to hear from you although I'm sorry about the circumstances. Firstly the team at Basingstoke are fantastic and you are in great hands.
I suspect that you will be invited for an appointment at their Pseudo clinic at the hospital where they will look at any CT scan images that you may have had done and discuss the options for treatment. It may take a few weeks for your appointment to come through. Please dont worry about this as PMP is a very slow growing condition. I know it's easier said than done when you have just been told you have cancer but you really do have time on your side with this thing.
They may decide to put you on a watch and wait for a bit and do another CT in six months time so they can get a feel for how quickly things are growing. It just depends on your circumstances as everyone is different.
Not sure if you have found it as yet but the Christie runs an excellent forum for PMP sufferers which I have found a real help. This can be found at-
http://www.christie.nhs.uk/pmp/forum/
Dawn Green also runs a great support site-

If you have any specific questions or worries then do please feel free to contact me as I would be more than happy to help. Either get back to me by responding to this discussion or you can mail me direct from my blog page using the mail me functionality at the bottom of the page.
