How do I change my email notifications?

When you start a discussion or respond to a message on Cancer Chat, you can select to receive notification emails which let you know when someone else has posted a reply.

You can also choose to receive emails if you are following a particular discussion and want to know whenever it is updated.

To receive notification emails for a particular discussion:

1. You need to be logged–in to change your email notifications

2. Go to the message for which you wish to receive email notifications

When you are viewing the message you will see an Actions box on the right of the page

3. Go  to the Actions box and click ‘Receive email notifications'

To stop receiving notification emails for a particular discussions, repeat steps 1,2 & 3 above

Then, go to the Actions box and click ‘Stop email notifications'

To stop receiving email notifications for any future discussions on Cancer Chat:

1. Click on 'Your account' in the blue bar across the top of the Cancer Chat homepage

2. Select 'Preferences' from the drop down list

3. Select the 'Email notification preferences' tab. Here you will be able to change which emails you receive and how often you receive them

These settings will only apply to emails in the future. If you wish to change your preferences for discussions you have been following in the past, you will need to go to that particular discussion and change your preferences in the ‘Actions’ box as explained above
